Alllllright people, here is Volume 3 of The ODC Podcast. The improvement from the first (and even the second) is significant, I think, so hopefully they keep getting better. As always, I’d love some feedback, ideas for the future, etc.

Today Trevor Smith is on the show, and we discuss the Lakers and their chances in the West, we get a little controversial discussing the NBA’s race-based image problem, and we put some ghetto in it talking about Mount Rapmore. Enjoy, and have a great weekend!

Guest: Trevor Smith
Topics: Lakers in ’08, NBA Image Problem, Mount Rapmore
Length: 23:20 (will normally be 18-22 minutes)

  1. This Dave Power says:

lil weezy = best rapper alive.. and blake I’m loving the reference to the boondocks, “Ice Cube? you mean that guy in all the Disney movies?” – Riley

  2. AJ says:

Where’s the love for Run DMC? I mean the theme for Ghostbusters 2 and the DX theme song…that’s hard to beat…

  3. d-rob says:

Lil Wayne is the best lyricist right now? serious? ever heard of army of the pharoahs, royce da 5’9,saigon, papoose… the list goes on and on. i mean weezy’s doing his thang and making hits but like lyrically he can’t even touch any of the greats or some of the better non-commercial stuff out there right now.

  4. Blake Murphy says:

Well first, Saigon is a little overhyped from his Entourage appearance. I’m a fan, but I’ve never been taken aback by his rhyming so much as the whole package. Papoose just doesn’t do it for me. As for Royce and Army, there’s definitely an argument to be made there, but Weezy was an opinion – I give big ups for comedy and sports references, it just makes takes-itself-too-seriously-sometimes hip hop a little more enjoyable for me, personally.

Who would your current Mt. Rapmore be?

  5. d-rob says:

    My “personal” Mt. Rapmore:

all-time: biggie, hova, nas, big L
current: little brother (phonte/big pooh), talib kweli, vinnie paz (jedi mind tricks),and black thought (the roots)

  6. Blake Murphy says:

Wow you’re on that underground shit fa sho. Big L is a great call, and I’m a little disappointed in myself for not at least discussing him on the Podcast.

  7. TSmith says:

DRob is an O’G’ for sure …Personally though I’d should have put Stew “Chow Ming” Wynne and Paul “Toolbelt” Pods on my Mount Rapmore just for comedy sake (Warning: EXTREMELY inside Ancaster joke)
