savard has the best vision of any hockey player i've ever seen, the plays he makes dont even make sense, half the time the person he passes it go isn't ready because they didn't think they'd be getting the puck, hes the best playmaker and passer potentially in the nhl ever

Brenden Morrow! the guy's there day in and day out for his teammates, is a great captain, and is STILL completely overshadowed by Modano. Even as an Eastern Conference girl, I watch Stars games just to see what Morrow will do.

Ales Hemsky.... come on... how could he not even get an honourable mention... the guy has averaged 65 points last 3 years and to my estimation will get 75 this season on a WEAK Edmonton team.. In my estimation Edmonton just gets no love... even when they went to the finals... still no love there...

Hey Glenn---Ian's article, but I'm sure he'll be glad you agree.

As for Daley, he's taken a while to 'make it' from a statistical perspective, but he's still only 24 and has lots of time to develop. Defensively, I can't really judge, though he's had a small plus/minus deficit on a good team. I know he was the victim of Van-Beezer's racism in Junior, so it'd make for a good 'facing adversity' story if he made it big, though he can obviously offer more than that.

Hello Blake,

I agree with your list. I was wondering what you thought about a gentlemen named Trevor Daley on the Dallas Stars. What do you think his potential is for the future in Dallas and the league?

great article - you are right, we could go on all day with this one. just to challenge you for a second though, have you heard the classic exchange, question: "who's the best player on the worst team?" answer: "no one cares." not so much in today's world of stat-hacking religious zealots and what not but that's what's wrong with keith. he plays in obscurity on a team that has a bright future but does nothing for anyone now, not to mention being burried under the likes of kane and the havlat soap opera. keith is appreciated by fans like you and i; call it underrated or whatever you like, but he's gonna play that roll until people fear the hawks (re: 3-4 years down the road).

and what's this about pandolfo? "Defensive forwards are the most commonly underrated players." no they're not, they are just the players fans talk about the least because they play the unseen part of the game. well, maybe in that sense i agree with you wholeheartedly then, but they aren't underpayed anymore! just look at mr. gomez himself rocking out in manhattan.

and pauly? "kris draper… HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAH not" that's just one too many "HA's" for my liking there buddy. two words: team canada. two more: gold medal. just as much of a part of the sweet salt lake victory as anyone (not to mention a few stanley cup teams) is kris "daywalker" draper. i wouldn't call him underrated if you paid me, and i'm tempted to hunt you down, climb a thirty foot latter so we can see eye to eye and tell you how disappointed i am. but i guess this will suffice.

anyways great article, hope other people share their thoughts.

I'd like to throw my own name out there. I was not a strong skater but I had unbelievable vision and was consistently in the race for the scoring title, but didn't really get any love.

Savard is the man.

Ryan Malone is awesome, and he'll always answer the bell when Malkin and Sid get assaulted. Plus he's originally from the Burgh.

Also, Marc Savard is underrated by everyone except Don Cherry.

I'd also like to throw Corey Perry into the mix, another key cog in the Ducks machine.
