Sparta! Video of the Day

Sorry ladies/Weasel, Kapler wasn’t well received yesterday, I guess, so we’re back to a regular VoD. This is the Senators opening segment live the other night for Game 3 of their series with the Pens. It kinda makes Alfredsson seem tolerable…

  1. Erik says:

I don’t know man, that was pretty lame. Probably should have spent more time thinking about how to win the game.

  2. AJ says:

Brutal. A year too late. If you’re gonna pull that, use the momentum of “300″ instead it came off as very “Meet the Spartans.”

  3. Pennycook says:

Stu and I will be at the game with our brooms out in full force and Stu rocking a blank Pens jersey with the number “4-0″ and the name “Sweep” on the back.

  4. The Anti-Virus says:

I’m not quite sure what they were thinking with that one… even if it had been cool, the fact that Mr. 3000′s mic kept cutting out would have killed it completely.

  5. Anonymous says:

What’s the deal with the Senators using a mascot/symbol of a Spartan in the first place? Shouldn’t it be an old guy in a toga?

  6. Dave says:

    That was me, not anonymous…

  7. AJ says:

Though I don’t remember the exact origins of the newer logo, there was a connection in the Roman Empire between the centurians/warriors and the Senate. It was either that Senators were ceremonial commanders in the army, or the high ranking military guys would go on to the Senate afterwards.

The original logo had the parliament buildings…that was badass
