Smith is an RFA and they play for separate teams, plus we have little cap space, so the flexibility isn't strong enough to secure two different deals for up-and-coming players, I don't think. Making deals simply for the sake of doing anything is what gets GMs in trouble. Trading malcontent starting PGs that can't distribute the ball, thats what gets GMs contract extensions.
