A good projection which reveals what average expectations may reveal.

What will make or break the season is the players who deviate substantially from their expectation. In this regard I like the Jay's chances. The Jays have several players with the potential to over-achieve and have several bench options to replace players who are under-achieving. Hence, in my analysis there is more upside than downside variance from this projection.

Great post guys. As a fellow Sports Blog Net blogger it's refreshing to see another site on the network take the time to put up a quality article like this one.

A couple of thoughts -

1. Teams are only allowed to use their amnesty clause on players that were on their roster before the new CBA was signed.

2. As a Lakers fan I can tell you that Buss and Kupchak are going to do everything in their power to get Dwight in purple and gold by seasons end. Landing Howard not only bolsters your chances of winning a title in the 1 or 2 (perhaps) seasons of the Lakers current window, but it also ensures the team a profitable star for the next 8-10 years.

The only question is what kind of deal is Orlando going to want in return this season, or what kind of deal will the Lakers have to make in the offseason to free up enough cap space to land Superman 2.0. This is why I think the Lakers will hold onto their Amnesty rights until the offseason when they can reassess where they are financially.

Anyways, love the post. Hopefully you guys keep a running dialogue like this up throughout the NBA Season. Perhaps sometime we can do a cross site feature about the NBA, it would be a lot of fun.

Keep up the good work.

Just a note to those I've heard discussing Alvarez as a potential closer due to his high-heat fastball - relax. He's 21, he has four pitches, and a starting pitcher is WAY more valuable than a reliever (# of innings, trade value, etc), even if some people think it matters that the team's closers have been bad in a season where the playoffs weren't a plausible scenario.

Perhaps I’ve just sat in on too many HR and organizational behaviour seminars, but I think generational cohort characteristics play a big role in how this whole deal transpired.

Research has shown that individuals within generational cohorts often share common characteristics and that different cohorts have different values.

Let’s look at 3 Generational Cohorts and some of their key characteristics:

Baby Boomers (1946 – 1964)
•	work centric
•	defined by professional accomplishments
•	believe others should pay their dues
•	pragmatic
•	confident, independent and self-reliant
•	goal oriented
•	competitive and strive to win

Generation Xers (1965 – 1981)
•	individualistic
•	ambitious
•	want to accomplish things on their own terms
•	adapt well to change
•	work hard/play hard mentality
•	sceptical of authority

Millennial Generation (1982 – 2000)
•	tech savvy
•	confident, ambitious and achievement-oriented
•	sense of immediacy; on a faster journey
•	high expectations of their employers
•	seek out new challenges
•	not afraid to question authority
•	value teamwork and seek the input and affirmation of others
•	craves attention
•	seek frequent praise and reassurance

Are certain comparisons and criticisms attributable to generational cohort characteristics?

It was all a SCAM!!! Lebron was lying through his teeth!!!

The whole deal was decided many months ago between Wade, Bosh and Lebron. His story about only making a decision after waking up yesterday is a total lie and it showed on his face!!! Sooo obvious.

When Bosh went with the Heat after posting twitters which amounted to taunts, that should have tipped everybody that the fix was in.

The fact that all three players are getting less than max money is another tip off, because that doesn't happen overnight. Negotiations were aimed to achieve this arrangement and contracts had many pages of detail. It was all done well ahead of yesterday. Believe it!!!

NBA fans were just strung along in an attempt to make it look like it was a difficult decision for Lebron. It was a total, cynical SCAM!!!!
